Sorry for asking.. Why a Cisco? You can use a Atheros
X32/2.0GHZ/2GB/ENGENIUS EMP-8602+S 600mw mini pci/WD 250GB
X60/1.83GHZ/2GB/Atheros/7K100

I have both. The Cisco appears to go farther for me, except that it's also broken.

I have one of these left over from my X31, from when I upgraded it to a/b/g wireless; the card is a Cisco Aironet MPI350, FRU 26P8496.

If this is the one you're after, you can have it for nothing :) I always figured it to be pretty much worthless in the days of dirt cheap a/b/g cards.

PM me with your address if it's what you're after, and I'll send it out to you.

The other problem with Cisco cards is the lack of support for WPA network authentication unless you use Cisco's client utility, which is far more limited than Windows XP's or Access Connections.

Yeah, I am a big fan of Cisco stuff. Heck I deal with it for a living, but when it comes to WiFi cards I think that the Atheros is the better option hands down.

Anyway I have one sitting on my desk. I took it out of my T40. It was working when I pulled it out, and haven't touched it since. It is yours if you want it, just PM or email me your mailing address.
T40 - 1GB RAM, 1.5GHz PM, Atheros WiFi, 40GB HD
X30 - 728MB RAM, 1.2GHz PIII, 60GB 7200RPM HD, Cisco WiFi
X31 - 1.5GBB RAM, 1.6GHz PM, 60GB 7200RPM HD, Atheros WiFi

aaa,

If you want to take Erik's card instead of mine, no worries -- keeping in mind it'll probably take 1.5-2 weeks for mine to get to you...

For those who have PMed me asking about wireless cards, I'll be sending mine to aaa today.

It sounds as though there are a few more of these cards floating about, so I guess here is as good a place as any to ask others for one :)

Hey all. Since rek is sending me one, anybody else who wants one can contact ErikD.

Apparently this is turning into the Cisco Exchange Thread :P.
