WTB or WTT a T23 LCD cable

Here is the story. I bought an LCD screen on eBay. Since I had everything else (inverter, plastic, cable and stands) I decided to buy just the LCD itself. So I did that.

Now, the cable that I have that goes to the motherboard must be from an earlier screen since it's kind of bends to the side and therefore when I close the lid, the cable pops out on one side and the screen has a nice useless color mosaic until the the cable is manually popped back in again.

I've purchased 2 more cables but they're the same exact type and same thing happens. I believe they're earlier T20-22 cables. My guess is that I need a later T23 one. This is the image of the one I already have. It is brown and shiny on the uppers side (one that faces the LCD itself).

Can pay or perhaps trade for something, let me know what you need.

The problem sounds like you are missing the retention bracket which mounts over the end of the LCD connector. Page 152 of the HMM, item #k. There are two cables for the XGA panel; one for the T20/T21 and the other for a T22/T23. If you have the SXGA+ panel, then there's only one version. Check the end of the cable where it plugs onto the motherboard. There should be an FRU number there.

I don't think that's the case. I have another old screen with defect so I checked it against this one. The connector on the bad screen sits a few millimeters lower. Plus, I took apart the good screen and checked it, it looks complete. Whoever sold it to me wrote T23 in the back of it, so I reckon I need a real T23 cable, earlier cables are useless.

I can probably help you on that.

I've got a dead T23 that I'm about to part out. It had the MB thing and I went around a while on it (with Ray and other's help) a few months ago, but if it was savable, I've now thoroughly trashed it!

I figure that it will bring more in parts, so I'll post a list soon here. For now, I'll just say that everything was good except the battery when it died and that cable should be fine.

What's a cable worth? Couple bucks and shipping unless it makes it hard to sell the screen. Could somebody tell me if that's an issue?

Trade? Anything small and useful to an R51 user...

I'm checking on prices for parts on Ebay and saw this one for you:

I'm wondering now how much I want to disassemble my LCD to extract the cable....

That's the guy I bought the cable I've mentioned before from. The auction said T23 but in reality it was a T20/21 cable sadly.

I'll send you a PM.

After some investigation I found out I need the cable FRU 27L0519 which is actually the T20/21 cable. FRU 27L0640 which I got like 3 of now won't work. Anyone has any of those?
