I may be getting a newish Thinkpad R50p. It has a 1600 x 1200 15" Flexview, 128mb FireGL, 1gb Ram, 1.7ghz and 60gb 7200rpm. It is out of warranty but was hardly used and is in great condition. The guy is asking $850. Is this about right? Seems kinda high to me.

Yep, that's kinda high. Such a unit should be worth only around $550 to $600.

I thought so. A quick purusal of ebay was turning up around $500- $650. Maybe it has some extras or something. I will find out what SKU is and if it comes with extra stuff.

Actually a new search of ebay turned up a couple in that price range. But they had warranties, and upgraded RAM.

So according to lenovo the specs are as follows:

P M 1.7GHz, 2GB RAM, 60GB 7200rpm HDD, 15 UXGA(1600x1200) TFT LCD, 128MB ATI FireGL T2, 24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), Intel 802.11b wireless, Secure Chip (TCPA), 9 cell Li-Ion battery, No preload

No OS cause it was sold to a business and had a volume license. There are a couple on ebay with these specs for that price but they had DVD burners, an OS and some had warranty.

They all have crappy "Mack" warranties.

I could sell you a grade 9/10 R50P, UXGA, with 2GB of ram, 60GB 7200 rpm hdd, 9 cell battery with cycle count of 4 with 63.28Wh remaining, new keyboard, for 715 shipped.

Sure, mine also has XP Pro presintalled fresh from the recovery partition. Currently waiting for the new keyboard (original one had a manufacturing defect).

I just bought mine on this forum for $500. Only difference is it has 512 RAM ($40 less) and wireless G ($30 more)

Somebody else has here has the same for $535 shipped, with 512MB.

It's just down the list some, this week.
