So you finally got the machine from Bill ... when do we get to see the pics?

A Xircom CreditCard Ethernet 10/100 with dongle is perfect for my 701C; plenty of them on ebay. Drivers for win95 can be downloaded as well.
As for the battery: you can replace the cells rather easily see instructions and pictures here:

The pictures will be available once I discover where my kids have hidden the camera...so Sri, my friend, excersize your patience... 
The battery is physically missing, so there are no cells to replace...thanks for the tip for the card though...
