I have for sale a Thinkpad A20/A21/A22 series system/motherboard. The bios has been updated to the latest version.
This board has been thoroughly tested and removed from a working system.
It will work in any of the A2xx series Thinkpads.

Price...$39.00 including shipping.

If interested, PM at fqo63@copper.net

Thanks... Tad

Will it work for 22p w/ UXGA LCD?

In my experience, no
The later A30 series uses the same connectors and the different screens will work, but the A2X series is either hi res or not, and the screens will not interchange. At least, that is what I found on doing some repairs.

OK. so.... I can use an a30p LCD on a regular a30, but cannot use a a22p LCD on a regular a22??

Would I be able to use a a22p LCD on a a30p or vice versa?

You can't exchange screens between A2x and A3 series, period.

It's not the question of the screen size per se, but of the resolution and everything that evolves around it.

Does the aforementioned 15" screen have SXGA+ or UXGA? I'd be willing to bet on a negative answer.

These boards WILL work on an XGA screen, but not above it.

Go into "display" under control panel. Check Settings and you'll see the resolution slide.

1024x768=XGA
1400x1050=SXGA+
1600x1200=UXGA

What you get with the "slide" all the way to the right is the maximum screen resolution, but make sure that you still have a compete screen visible at the maximum setting.

BTW, "P" models have 16Mb video chip as opposed to 8Mb on standard models...in the A2x series, that is.

Hope this helps.

The A22p I have from you (15" screen) gives this as the maximum resolution (at 32 Bit color). Would that also apply to my newly-acquired A20p?

A20P is SXGA+, 1400x1050

I learned something today. My machine with a 12P3288 will only go to 1024X768=XGA.

Thanks George for that information.

Bob... with that info, it looks like this board will not serve your purpose.

Regards... Tad

Looks like it, Tad. But I'm grateful to both George and you for checking this out first. That saved a lot of unnecessary effort.

I wish you the best of luck with your sale, and hope someone with a need for the right board will grab this one very soon.
