Hi All,

Am thinking of selling away my X24.
Am selling because it's a little underpowered for my programming needs.
The condition is very good, looks like new when viewed from say half a meter. You can judge for yourself from the picture.

The basic specs are taken from Thinkwiki

*************************************************************************
* Intel Mobile Pentium III-M 1.13 GHz CPU
* ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 with 8 MB RAM
o 12.1" TFT display with 1024x768 resolution
* 512 MB PC-133 SDRAM memory standard, 128 MB fixed on board, one populated SO-DIMM Slot (640MB max)
* 20 GB 2.5" HDD
* CS4299 AC'97 Audio controller
* CDC slot with one of the following:
o Ethernet Daughter Card (EDC)
o Bluetooth Daughter Card (BDC)
* MiniPCI slot with one of the following:
o Mini-PCI Modem card
o Intel PRO/100 SP Mobile Combo Adapter
o IBM High Rate Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Adapter with Modem
* CardBus slot (Type 2)
* CF Card slot
* UltraPort
* FireWire (IEEE1394) on select systems
* IBM Embedded Security Subsystem on select systems

*************************************************************************

For my system, it's with 1.13 P3 processor, I've put in a 512 MB Ram so it's 640 MB in total. (Maxed for x24)

I've upgraded the HDD to 40GB 5400RPM.

I have two batteries, one is official IBM which can last at least 1+ hr (Will give duration of how long it can play VCDs for tomorrow) the other is a new IBM Compatible battery from China which can last 2 and 1/2 hrs when playing VCDs. I can throw in a dead IBM batt if you want to refurbish it by replacing the dead lithium cells inside.

There's a 1 pixel scratch mark on the screen, it's not visible in the photos.

The hinges has a 1/2 inch play and I'll be including a MediaSlice X2 also, it has DVD Rom and Floppy Drives installed on it.

I'll be giving the Original IBM Power Adapter as well. And the IBM Factory Restore is inside the HDD so you can just press F11 during boot up to restore it back to Factory Default.

This is the bottom and the two round circles are the vecros from my speedball. I can take them out if you want me to.

The interior, you can see the status and health(green) of the IBM battery from the picture.

How much are you willing to pay for all these without shipping cost?

Cheers

Edited: I'm able to run Troy (VCD) on the X24 for at least 1 & 1/2 Hour on "DVD mode" Battery Maximiser profile. Battery charge cycle is 88 for the IBM battery. For the OEM China Battery it's 4 or 5 charge cycle. I've also added the MediaSlice photo.

Sorry Mod. for the excessive large picture. -_-;

No one's interested in naming a price?
Or is it due to my time here as a forum user?

Is $320-330 with shipping too much to ask for?

Cheers

Pricing

IMO, $320 - 330 is quite a bit too high.

X22's regularly go for around $225 or less. I realize this is an X24 but the specs aren't that much different.

Hmm... do they go around for that price with the mediaslice and extra batteries?

Not sure how the market works here. All the upgrades weren't cheap for me :cry: lol

thanks for the reply though :)

Might be more due to a lack of experience with selling an X24...people are generally helpful in trying to nominate a price, but depends on when they log on and browse the forums.

As I see it (with my next to no knowledge of the Singaporean market), a price between your thought and that of the typical X22 seems it could be fair. It looks like a great cared for machine, and the media slice and maxed memory are handy, plus the extra battery. I don't know what shipping costs would be from Singapore, but I would say that $280 shipped would be a reasonable place to start from.

Quick tip: for security's sake, replace the pic of the underside with one where the XP product key and serial number are blacked out.

Good luck :)

Hi KristianJ,

Thanks for the friendly advice, really appreciate it :)
I'm actually looking for at least $280 without the shipping cost if possible. I hope it's not asking too much...
I'm not sure how much it'll cost to ship to the States from SG...
Might check it out to see how it goes... Will update again once I have the costing.

Cheers

The biggest thing, was that you only allowed less than 3 hours for a response. It takes time for the gamut of people on here to make their way through the Marketplace.

Next time, please be a little more patient. We have a no bumping rule of 72 hours here...though this wasn't an actual bump, per se.

Now, having said that...I'd put this X24 in the 250-300 range, because of the accessories that you have with it. (ie. extra batteries, ultrabase, etc.)

Hi tfflivemb2,

Thanks for the advice. I guess I'm too used to the response time on the other forum that I frequent.

Am an impatient guy by nature. Sorry about it :p

IMO, You'd be more likely to get the money you want out of your system by breaking in up a bit.
Sell the mediaslice and the better battery separately. Some would even sell the extra RAM separately, although I personally wouldn't go that far.
You'll almost certainly come out ahead of selling them in one bundle.

For reference you might take a look at this eBay auction for an X24 that ended today at $260 with shipping.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0172970506

It included the mediaslice but no extra battery, it also had a 120gb hard drive vs. your 40gb. Pricing here can differ quite a bit from eBay but it should give you a pretty good idea.

I'll second the idea of separating stuff...X2 series has taken quite a hit pricewise, although I personally still favour X24 over any other X...but that's me, and I'm NOT a buyer for your machine...

Good luck.

Hi All,

Sorry for the long non-update due to work, though I don't think anyone's missing it :)
Managed to sell it off for $285.

Cheers
