SOLD!A20P, 700/256/20, DVD, 15" SXGA+,
A rare old bird in good shape...
ThinkPad A20p 2629-6SU
Original description: PIII 700 MHz (256KB) 128 MB RAM, 18.0GB HDD, 15.0 TFT 1400x1050 LCD, 6x-DVD drive, Combo, Win98
DVD-ROM and HDD are significantly newer than the rest of the unit. RAM is 2x128Mb. Battery is weak, 10 minutes or so..
Video card is ATi with 16Mb, the same one used on A21P and A22P.
Physical condition is about 8 out of 10, mostly because of wear/sticker residue on the lid. The rest of machine is in good shape. Missing camera port cover in the front.
I don't have the W98 restore disks, so the laptop will arrive either booting to C: prompt, or with a "Linux of the day" distro.
Asking $150 plus reasonable shipping depending on your location. I ship worldwide and accept most payment methods. My usual offer of free shipping to lower 48 states if you choose NOT to use PayPal applies.
Feel free to PM me for high-resolution pictures, or with any questions/concerns that you might have.

Does it run Ubuntu 7.10?
Don't suppose you know if Ubuntu 7.10 works on this machine do you? "Works" = network, display, modem, etc. drivers work or can easily be made to work.
I've loaded 7.10 on my X40 and it actually works out of the box other than some odd trouble with Windows shares and the middle mouse scroll button no working. I need windows on the X40 and I'm looking for another Linux test machine.
Thanks!

I've run Linux PC OS 2006 and everything worked (haven't really tested the modem), and I can give it a shot with Ubuntu...I'm pretty certain that it will work, since this is, in most respects, a machine with run-of-the-mill hardware...I just have to find a disk with 7.10...I believe I have one somewhere...but that won't be for the next couple of days.
