[How Much] T42P, 15" UXGA FlexView, 1GB RAM, 60GB 7200R

Ok well i was curious as to how much these things go for since i might be able to get one at a decent price.

Original description: P M 745, 1GB RAM, 60GB 7200rpm HDD, 15 UXGA(1600x1200) TFT LCD, 128MB ATI FireGL T2, 24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD(slim), IBM 802.11a/b/g wireless(MPCI), Bluetooth/Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 9 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro

That said 700 - 850 so i'm wondering if those prices still stand in todays market? I was thinking to sell it for 650-700 since it doesn't have any warranty remaining.

So any takers or should i just use it to pay my rent

With respect to prices on used T42p's, they vary quite a lot, and I guess that eBay will bring more that this Marketplace. Right now, there's a T42p (2 GHz w/1 GB RAM, and with UXGA/FlexView display) nearing end-of-auction at eBay, being this one - check in an hour and see how high it went. Generally, there are very few T42p's at eBay. The best T42p deal these days (unless you find some real bargain!) I believe is at the IBM Certified Used ThinkPad T42p (C96) at (only!) $806,- after rebate. The 3-month warranty on the latter can be extended, probably for another two years for around $160; read how in the thread re-extending warranty. Note that the 2373-C96 is a top-of-the-line T42p, similar to the 2373-Q1U: CPU 2.1 GHz, 2 GB RAM, fingerprint reader etc. People lurking this forum may be aware of such deals, swhile I guess that the "wider audience" found at eBay are less likely to know such bargains...

If I had not already my (wonderful!) T42p/2373-Q1U, I would surely have been interested in yours. Good luck with the sale!

Prices have gone down...and you're in the correct ballpark for that machine with $650-700. I've recently seen a couple of them for less, but I do believe that you shouldn't go any lower. I know I wouldn't.

You could be asking more if there was any warranty left, but, alas, that's not the case.

These are VERY nice machines. Good luck with the sale.
