What's my R60 worth?

#1 Post by ZaZ » Mon Oct 29, 2007 1:39 am

Someone at work wants to buy my R60, but I am unsure how to price it. The specs are:

1.66GHz Core Duo
2GB of Memory
120GB Hard Drive
SXGA+ Screen
DVD-RW Drive
XP Home

I also have the modular battery. The machine is in very good shape and I haven't had a problem with it. The warranty on it just expired. I want to ask for a fair price, but again I'm not sure what to ask for. I don't want to go too low or high. Anyone have any thoughts? Any help greatly appreciated.

This is a tough one indeed...my semi-blind guess, since they don't come up for sale that often, would be somewhere between $600 and $675...depending on other factors, like who's buying and so on...

Have you burned a set of recovery discs yet? If you haven't, do it. When you state in your ad that "recovery discs are included", that will add $20 or so to the laptop's value. With these discs, several nice photos, and more info about the machine's specifications (e.g. screen size, battery charge capacity, etc.), you can sell it for up to $650.
