For Sale: Dead A31P Thinkpad for salvage - $100 shipped CONUS, or best offer

I'm selling a dead A31P:
Type: 2653-H5U
S/N: 78-CX355
Mfg date: 04/02

It comes with the following accessories:
*Ultrabay 2000 DVD
*Ultrabay 2000 CD-RW
*AC Adapter
*WinXP Professional COA (mint)
*512 MB RAM (PC2100, 1 SODIMM)

KNOWN DEFECTS
*--> Dead motherboard
*--> LCD bezel is slightly loose on the right side
*--> 15" Flexview LCD does not light up - probably a dead backlight
*--> No hard drive

I rate the case of the A31P as a 8.5 out of 10. There are only a few minor scuffs.

There are no stains, dents, scratches or gouges.

The keyboard is probably a 6 out of 10. Plenty of good, honest shine, but the letters on the keys are not worn. There are no loose keys.

###### WHY THIS IS DEAD ######

This machine has been into the shop because we thought that the LCD backlight had died. When the shop replaced the backlight, the LCD did light up but then the motherboard failed. Since the motherboard died a painful death, the shop took out the good backlight.

********* DISCLOSURES **********

THE MOTHERBOARD DOES NOT POST.

This is one dead Thinkpad.

******* Why you might want to buy this ********
The only sane reason to buy this machine is to attempt to salvage the Flexview LCD.

It should work. BUT, I cannot give you any guarantee that the LCD will work since I am not interested.

The motherboard case is salvageable and might be another reason to buy this.

Did I fail mention that this TPad is DEAD???

Ok. If you are still crazy enough to buy this, I'm assuming a few things:
1. YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS ONE DEAD THINKPAD. NO WHINING AND NO RETURNS.
2. You know how to use a Phillips screwdriver.
3. You will learn the meaning of the word PainPad.
4. You know how to use paypal.

Believe it or not, I'll carefully packed this poor Thinkpad. It'll be sent via FedEx Ground. If you want it faster, it's simple: send me more money.

Thanks.
