Recovery CDs for IBM R50e

#1 Post by imweezle » Sat Dec 01, 2007 12:10 pm

Hi guys, it's been a while since I've been to the forums, but I saw this thread and was hoping one of you guys could help me out. You see, I was trying to install a new operating system on my IBM Thinkpad R50e, and even though I was very careful and tried to make sure I didn't erase the rescue and recovery partition, somehow it happened. Well, now I am on my new OS, but I would like to get back to Windows XP, and I do not have a Windows Boot Disc. I also cannot get to the Rescue and Recovery from BIOS because the partition was erased. I called IBM and told them about my problem and asked if I had recovery CDs, well, unfortunately when I went to create them, for some reason it wouldn't let me. The man on the phone told me that I could by the directly from IBM for $50 or if I knew anyone who had IBM R50 Rescue and Recovery discs, I could use theirs. So, my question is could someone who has the R50 recovery discs possibly create me a copy? I would be willing to reimburse them for the shipping to me (I'm a poor college kid lol) and for their effort. If you can help me, you can reply to the topic or email me at imweezle@gmail.com

Thanks,
Michael
