IBM leather case and 600-series CD-ROM and port doors 4 sale
Posted: Mon Dec 03, 2007 3:00 pm
I have a few items that don't fit my 560x or that I don't use anymore, and I thought I'd offer them here before doing the eBay thing. My asking prices are really to cover my time and trouble but are negotiable so if you'd like to pay more that's fine.
I'd be shipping from 85706 if that helps you calculate shipping. Payment options are
a) check (must clear before shipping)
b) PayPal request (you don't need a PayPal account)
Just e-mail me and we'll figure that out. First come first served.
You can see pictures of them here: http://home.earthlink.net/~mirau_public ... /index.htm.
Thumbnails on this page (11 of them) are around 4 KB. Medium images around 100 KB. Largest images are approx 200-300 kb.
Original leather IBM laptop carrying case
This case came with my 560x back in 1998 and was gently used by the original owner before being stored in my closet. It has a couple very minor scuffs but is in excellent condition. The tag says made by Motion Systems for IBM, RCLS30 might be the model number. Web search says this is a "COMPU-PLUS CARRYING CASE." Black leather, carry handle, shoulder handle. Approximately 18" long by 8" deep by 14" tall. Bathroom scale says it weighs about 5 lbs. Web search shows pricing between $40 - $60, completed eBay listings vary from $1.99
to $9.00. This classic bag with that satisfying leather feel is yours for $7.00 plus shipping.
-- Front exterior pocket: zipper mesh, then a leather flap velcro-closure pocket with places for pens, biz cards, etc.
-- Interior padded pocket: padded "rail" around the interior ("tube cushion system"), with velcro-closure flap for securing laptop. File pocket and a few organizer pockets about the right size for PCMCIA cards.
--Interior file pocket: 3 fabric sections long enough for legal-size paper.
--Rear leather flat pocket: for the odd file folder, etc.
CD-ROM drive 24x, the kind that you can swap in and out of the front of the laptop.
I *think* it is from a Thinkpad 600, 600e or 600x, however you are responsible for making sure this is the correct part # for your machine. It has been treated kindly and stored in a baggie in the above leather case. I can't test this item but am sure it will work fine and if not send it back and I'll refund your money. eBay prices for this item are between $17 and $75 for this item but I am asking only $10 plus shipping. Packed I'm guessing it would be around 2 lbs.

Miscellaneous exterior "doors" or "flaps" that cover I/O ports.
These are the little items that are forever getting peeled off, ripped off or lost. I don't know what possessed me to salvage them. Here again I *think* they are from a Thinkpad 600, 600e or 600x, however you are responsible for making sure this is the correct part # for your machine. As far as I can tell they run around
$2 - $5 each so you can have all four pieces for $4 including shipping. (No, I'm not gonna break up this little family to sell them separately, that's just cruel.) They're so light that first class postage and a padded envelope should do it.
The pieces are as follows:
-- Monitor and printer icon, 05K4510, approximately 3-5/8" long by 5/8" wide. (This is the exterior "door" measurement not including the flap where the glue goes.)
-- USB icon, 05K4512, approx. 2-1/16" long by 3/8" wide with a semi-circle notch out of one end.
-- Floppy drive icon, 05K4511, approx 1-1/8" long by 5/8" wide.
-- Squiggle line port icon, 05K4509, approx 1-3/8" long by 5/8" high with a notch out of one corner.
Hope someone here can put them to good use.
