Does it have to be a Thinkpad? I can give you an old lcd-less Dell I have here, uses around 6w I believe.

I really would prefer a Thinkpad with a screen. I don't want it to be completely headless because I'm planning on playing around with different networking/server software.

I've got an old Thinkpad in the closet at home. IIRC it has a Pentium running at 120 MHz or so, and 800x600 screen. Has Linux installed too, though an older distribution. The floppy drive is broken, but I think the CD works, as does network (or did last time I booted it).

If you might be interested let me know, and I'll dig it out and see if it still boots.

I have an old Thinkpad 600 laying about. PII-333 or PII-400, IIRC.
Thinkpads: You spend money to save money.

(Just budget the price of Tylenol.)

If you are thinking the 600 or 570 series, a possible consideration is that the Pentium II's are a lot noisier than the pentium III's. The fans blair lowly on my 600 and 570e and much less so on my 600x and 570e.
