LOL...now I know why we're getting threads with 'can I use a 56 watt AC adapter for this or that machine'.

My mistake, I thought the 90 watt would work. But not on sale anymore.

T42's use a 72 watt, 16V, 4.5A AC adapter. FRU 02K6753

I don't recommend it for normal users but I have been using a 56W ac adapter with my T42 for years. No smoke coming out yet. Oh with 56W you don't want to play 3D games while charging battery at the same time.
