Edit: I have gotten one through TPF, thanks everyone! - Brian

I know there have been some in the past, and I am hoping that some new X61s's have reached the hands of some innocent TPF.com members in this holiday season. I would love to upgrade my X30 to an X40, as I plan on taking it throughout Europe on travel this coming spring and summer, and the X40, pound for pound, seems like a great choice.

Good condition is really the only requirement. Ultra dock not a necessity by any means, nor is tons of RAM. I don't even need a good condition battery, as I plan on purchasing a new 8 cell for my travels.

I have PP sitting in my account waiting to be sent to the first party interested. I also have a bit of Heatware, and lots of eBay feedback. Let me know!

I think you would be happier with an X31 or an X60
The X40 is a bit hobbled by the unusual hard drive it uses, and probably runs slower than an X31.
Or at least try for an X41.

The 1.8" HD speed is not a limitation for me, this will not be a primary computer, but a traveling/class notes one. I am very interested in the lower weight over the X31, and the increased battery life of and reduced cost over the X41.

Thanks for your suggestions, but I have done my research and I still very much want to get my hands on an X40.

Coming from a guy that's been using an X40 as a travel machine, you won't be sorry.

The only deficiency is the audio output, both the speaker and amp are weak. Even with good headphone, you can't hear the quiet sections. This is only a problem when listening to movies on airplanes. I had to buy an Echo Indigo PC Card to handle the audio output for movies.

Good luck on your search.

I'm actually writing this reply on Dainova's (well, mine) X40 as we speak. A very nice machine, sorry you missed out on it.

Mods, you can close this thread. Thanks.
