1) 33L3070: Need PC100 or other compatible 256MB RAM SODIMM for my dad's IBM T22, to max it at 512mb. It now has original 256+128MB SODIMM.

I bought a (Kingston?) PC133 stick which I was told would work. Lie!

Would trade the PC133 256MB, PC100 128MB, and/or cash as needed, in return for valid PC100 256MB. If you have twin 26MB PC133 low density of a type known to work, we could also work something out. Please make me an offer. I might have some other misc T2X bits to make it worth your while.

2) 41U3148, 62P4554 : I want a 2nd HDD Ultraslim adapter for my T41p. I don;t know which of these is needed - the 1st seems to be the new p/n, originally was the 2nd p/n.

Does anyone know the difference?

Does anyone have one available?

I can offer in trade: an OEM 802.11b card from the T41p, which I replaced with an abg card; some 9-cell batteries of middling worth; and/or cash. I also have the T41p repair disc set (5/5 CDs).

3) 08K9828 : I bought on eBay a T41p Hard Drive Cover and Caddy. The caddy looks and fits OK but the over seems a) flimsy and b) not to fit properly to the caddy/drive. The holes in the cover are so big they fit over the screw heads in the caddy and there is no solid connection.

Can someone advise on why this doesn't fit? Have I missed something? Is there a fix? And or, does someone have a part I really need for this?

A photo or instructions on creating the proper fit would be a great help.

---

If no one themselves can help on the above, pointers welcome, to other members, to websites, etc. TIA N

I've come across these, too. They are cheap knock-off's, not original replacment HDD covers. The plastic looks identical, but the inside metal shield is thinner and doesn't cover the full width of the cover. It is also missing the two rubber shock absorbers.

Be very careful when buying parts on eBay - there are more and more counterfeits!

On RAM-Mixing: SODIMM PC100 + PC133 in T22 T21 T20

Some people have been kind enough to PM me with offers.

Let me ask this as a tech question: Can you mix and match safely? I mean if I have PC100 in the T22 and someone offers me a low density PC133 that worked in another T2x, do the PC100 and PC133 SODIMMs play well together? Or must one have all PC100 or PC133? Should they be in any particular RAM socket?

For T21's and T22's you'll have the best luck with matched low density (16 chips total) PC100 modules. Anything else you'd have to try/test.
