Thinkpad Fans

I have aquired some processor fans for the following thinkpads. Before I go and work on pricing, I wanted to see if there was any intrest. I am looking at a ball park of $12.00 + shipping ea for the common fans and the not so common I will need to see what is fair.

These units appear to be unused. I will verify that when I get them on site. The fans have zero dust in them and are not oxidized. I try to price these as fair as possible and give a decent price to the forum. I am completely open to input as far as pricing goes.

I'd say that's a fair price...and given some very minimal eBay research on my part, T60 fans shouldn't be much more ....

Good luck finding the market for G41 fans, though...

13R2656 T4* Long - common

I've been looking for a long fan for my T40 since I upgraded to a 1.6 Dothan (it has the 7500 video).

The part I keep finding is 13R2657, not the one you have listed. Do you (or anyone) know what the difference is?

If it'll work for me, I'll take it for your asking price and reasonable shipping.

The 13R2657 is the FRU-number while the 13R2656 is the original IBM P/N - see e.g. the eBay advertisement: Fan Long 13R2657 13R2656 IBM / Thinkpad T40 T41 Laptop or IBM Thinkpad 13R2657 T41 T42 Heat Sink Heatsink Fan (note photo at bottom of page). If you search this forum for "13R2657" you will find that it is reported as being the lowest-noise version of the "Long" M10 fan for T4x ThinkPad's.

Everyone..

I am waiting for these fans to show up. They are suppose to be here sometime in the next 3 days. As soon as I have them in hand, I will post and let everyone know.

For team members out of the country, if you have a good rep, I have zero issues sending. The only problem will be the hassle with customs. Once I ship (insured) its not my problem anymore!

I pack my stuff very well, so there should be no issues on the ride over.

Wait, maybe I'm being an idiot.

I thought the 13R2657 would not fit into the T40s.

Am I wrong? Did I miss something somewhere?

EDIT: OK, I'm confused. Does anyone have any pics comparing the two??

EDIT 2: OK, I see the difference. I found them on eBay. The 'long' has the extry bit of metal that continues toward the center of the computer.

But I'm getting conflicting answers as to whether it fits into the T40 for sure. Any thoughts?

Sorry for the lack of communication. I need to look and see if I can tie my PM's to my personal email address as well.

I recieved the balance of the fans today. There was a delay due to the snow up here in Chicago. The fans are USED, so I will need to test each one before I sell them. Any fan that is slow or hesitates gets thrown out. I will be testing them to power up and spin. If they spin, I will consider them viable. If someone knows of a better way that is not time consuming, please let me know. I dont want to sell junk, but I also have to balance that with the time it takes to test each unit.

I feel the 12.50 each + shipping. I am assuming shipping will be around 7.. so I will round out the price to 20.00 shipped within the USA for the fans.

I am also looking for the retainer brackets for the video cable, where it mounts to the planar.. anyone have some they want to sell ? I would like to get around 10 of these items.
