This is one of the first-generation Tablet PCs introduced in Nov. 2002. It was the most powerful and best designed of the early tablets and remains quite powerful today. It is in very close to like-new condition with no real shine on the keys, no screen defects and only a few very minor marks on the exterior plastics.

Specs:
Pentium IIIm 1.33 GHz (last and fastest pre-Centrino mobile CPU)
1.0 GB RAM (maxed 2X512 PC133)
Two USB 2.0 Ports (the only 1st Gen Tablet with USB 2.0)
40GB 5400 RPM hard drive (Hitachi TravelStar, pulled from a T42)
16MB Shared Video (Trident CyberAladdin - A VERY WEAK GPU)
Toshiba WiFi 802.11B mini-PCI (will include Intel 2200BG as well)
2 AC Adapters (very small and light)
1 AC Adapter (Older, not so small and light)
2 Batteries (original runs 2:45 and aftermarket runs 3:15)
Toshiba PCMCI DVD-ROM w/ 16 bit (bootable) and 32 bit PC cards
Toshiba USB Floppy (bootable)
12" XGA display

It is about 1.5" thick (very thin for a tablet) and weighs just under 4lbs. Like a ThinkPad, the hard drive can be removed with a single screw. Overall, an outstanding design.

This is a very nice tablet for use with XP Tablet Edition 2005 (installed and fully updated), and I've run Vista Business on it well too, though Toshiba doesn't support it and provides no downloads. For Vista, you must use the XP display driver and the tablet utilities from the Portege M200.

Performance in XP is quite speedy, almost exactly the same as the last X30 I had (X30 has slightly better though still lame video).

Tablet functions work beautifully, and I will include a second tablet pen. This is a fully modern pen setup, unlike the X41 tablet, as there is an "eraser" at the back of the pen and a right-click button on the pen.

You can find an excellent review on this machine by Pen Computing Magazine here - http://pencomputing.com/frames/tpc_toshiba.html

These things tend to fetch about $400 to $500 on eBay, but are rarely in this condition. This one is really near-new, wiht tight hinges for both the swivel and the display angle and the digitizer is perfect. This machine was obviously not used very much.

$450 or Best Offer Gets It!!!!
