Specs:

ThinkPad X31 2672-PBU [change]
Operating system: All [change]

Original description: P M 1.6GHz, 256MB RAM (upgraded to 1GB), 40GB 4200rpm HDD , 12.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, 16MB ATI Radeon, Intel 802.11b wireless, Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), Secure Chip, IEEE 1394, 6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro,

The machine is in great running shape, absolutely no functional issues, decent battery gives about 2 hrs 15 minutes of movie watching for ripped media. The laptop is out of warranty and does NOT come with an optical drive or ultrabase. Comes with 56w adapter.

Machine cosmetic state is average, 2 or 3 display screws are missing their plastic cosmetic covers: I will try and find/replace them before sending it out. Keyboard is maybe 8/10 with very shine. Exterior is maybe a 7/10 - one rubber foot is missing and there is some (small) loss of rubberized paint at the corners. One small pressure spot at the rackpoint but you cannot see it when the screen is lit. Left latch is broken but right latch holds great, I actually prefer this as it allows me to open the laptop one handed. Hinges are very tight. X31 sticker below screen has been 'altered' to allow the bluetooth light underneath to shine though, black coating has been scratched off. If you are a cosmetic nitpicker then this is not the machine for you.

Come with power adapter and an basic Ubuntu install. The machine has a valid Windows XP Pro COA on back + MAC ID stickers. If you like, we can talk about what it would cost to ship it with a fully running Windows install (not much).

I will do worldwide shipping at your risk (meaning you pay for insurance on a tracked delivery). Your money has to clear first though. I am in Canada so take that into consideration as delivery may take a while. Shipping will be Canada Post. You can choose to pay extra for some other service.

No pictures, I am afraid that my digital camera is broken. If anyone really needs to see it before buying, I will do a video with a minidv cam and post it to youtube.

You can look me up on eBay and on this forum to see that I trade Thinkpads regularly. You can also see in my feedback that I purchased this laptop on ebay this last August.

Paypal only, I am not sure how much these run these days but seeing how I have had no response at my old price point, I am now taking to all takers making offers.

Just realized I forgot to talk about shipping: should be about $26.50 to US/Canada locations with $400 in insurance and $38.5 anywhere else for standard shipping with tracking.

---edit (can't read at 12:15 in the morning) ---

What would you consider taking? I'm seeing X31's w/ ultrabase+CDRW/DVD in the media bay, in better cometic condition, going for ~350 on ebay.

I don't want to make an offer that's insultingly low, and I'm still shopping, but would you consider a price in the 225-250 range?

Wow, thanks for the heads up.

I just looked at eBay and found that US prices on X31 have indeed dropped to the $300 to $350 range like you mentioned. Craigslist and eBay.ca are still in the $400 to $450 range for Canadian sales though which is strange.

Let me try and hold out a little longer for a Canadian buyer before dropping the price that far
