I found the following place to buy from. What do people think of the site legit ?

http://www.computemobility.com/frameset ... U+yes++New+

Since IBM have 3 year International warranty and the parts are Identical so if a problem occurs (and my other IBM ThinkPads have been great) then support is local.

Bill you said you were unable to get the IBM ThinkPad T42 2379-R9U model when I emailed you a few days ago.

The site above was the only place so far that has said they will ship to Australia and can get the IBM ThinkPad T42 2379-R9U model.

I still have some worries about buying International but the hardware specs are much better than the current Australian models and it will work out about AUD$500 cheaper with better specs.

Any more info to ease my concerns anyone ?

i THINK its some sort of acronym for "screw the dealer"..

for sure its not meant that these are in stock all the time..

reality, i do not know and never asked anyone..

Don't express models have a much shorter warranty perios....3 years for regular buy, 1 year for express? Not sure, but seems I read that somewhere.

arion, i recently bought a 2379-R9U, but i have recently felt an inclination to go towards the smaller 14" style. Since it is xmas time, and i'm leaving the USA to go back to australia on the 13th dec for xmas, i gave up on that idea because i didnt think there would be enough time to send it back and get the other one in time. if u really want this model and cant find a seller online to send a new one to australia for you, and u dont mind one that has been used for about 3 weeks (the laptop is clean with no dead pixels dont worry), then maybe we can discuss options to get this to you for the price i paid, plus shipping. the only problem is that i need a laptop over the xmas break for work, so u'd have to wait till i come back, unfortunately.. which is 2nd jan. so if it's not urgent and you're interested, reply back or pm me. thanks
