I converted a 240 (2609-21U) over to a 240X (2609-62U) when the original mainboard died. No modifications where needed and everything on the new board (old system) works perfectly and looks professional. No dust anywhere, maticulously cleaned and new heat sink paste after very thorough cleaning.
System board - 12P3058 and has been fully tested. I personally used unit for one month with zero issues. Can't keep it, have too many.
This is a bare bones unit with new Extended 02K6607 Battery with only a few cycles, Hard Drive Cover, 64M of onboard RAM. No power supply, Hard Disc, external floppy, CD-Rom or user replaceable PC100 RAM. (Most of us have those anyways.) Ran XP just fine, runs linux better, run whatever you wish but everything runs better with a 5400rpm Disc. Link to specs; http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:240X
Screen brightness is about 85 - 90% of original, keyboard has little shine - mostly space bar but it's minimal. Painted lid is in great shape, has a few minor blemishes so it's not perfect. Machine serial number didn't save, no IBM Maintenance floppy to change it. No cracks or gouges anywhere , nothing has been modified. I do not do hack jobs or Frankenpads, I enjoy what I do and love to recycle. (Still have the old system board!)
I'm looking at $85 + shipping and prefer non CC PayPal. All I need is an email address and I'll send a PayPal invoice.
PM me if interested. Pics on request. Hate to give it away.......
SOLD!!!
Thanks to all for your interest!
