I have here a T60 in very good condition. Model number is 2613-hcu.

Original description: Customer configured(RAM, HD, Ultrabay, Battery, Preload): T5500(1.66GHz), 14.1in 1400x1050 LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X1300, Wireless upgradeable, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader

The screen is just replaced by Lenovo, so it is immaculate and in perfect condition. The ram that came with this machine is 512mb. I upgraded it to 1gb (512mb X 2). If you want 2gb ram (1gb X 2) just pay me $40 more, I'll gladly add it in for you. The original harddrive is replace with a new Seagate 100gb, 7200rpm one, nice and fast. I also include in this auction an extra 9-cell battery, for a total of 2 9-cell battery, both can hold about 95% of the original charge. Comes with XP Home Edition. Also included is a CD-RW/DVD Ultrabay drive. Asking price is $750 shipped to continental US, but feel free to send me your best offer. International buyers are welcome, but I can only help out a portion of the shipping, you'll have to pay the rest for shipping. I accept Paypal of all types. Thanks.

UPDATE: One more thing I forgot to mention, the machine has an NMB keyboard. If you are very very considerate of your keyboard because you're a programmer or a typing enthusiast, then you will love this keyboard, because it's the best that Lenovo has to offer. Good tactile feedback, very comfortable.

UPDATE 2: I still have the original box, documentations, accessories, etc. EVERYTHING. I will ship the machine with all original acessory and in the original box, just like when you bought it new from Lenovo.

UPDATE 3: Now RAM will be default 2gb (2x1gb) at no extra cost. Also free shipping.

UPDATE 4: I just discovered that the XP Home recovery partition is corrupted, so it's impossible to restore it to original factory condition. You can, however, purchase XP Professional recovery CD's from Lenovo for the T60, and restore the XP Professional partition from those CD's. I will format the harddrive before shipping so you can boot from those recovery CD's and get XP Professional from there. You can also find those recovery CD's from fellow forum members, I'm sure they have some spare ones if you post a request, they can sell it to you at a good price. Sorry about the inconvience, but I'm sure you wouldn't want to use XP Home anyway. The harddive itself is not damaged however. There is no bad sector, and no problem whatsoever with the harddrive. OR YOU CAN JUST INSTALL XP OR VISTA FRESH ON THE MACHINE. I'LL WIPE THE HARDDRIVE CLEAN BEFORE SHIPPING. THANKS!

Very nice offer. I bought the same model from PW half a year ago at a comparable price (at that time), and I'm *very* happy with the unit.

Especially those who want to run a Linux distro should consider this offer. T60s are machines meant to run Linux.

That reminds me, this machine runs the newest Compiz Fusion flawlessly, unlike the new T61, due to better driver of ATI GPU under Linux.

From the discussion held in this FS thread, there may be some possible issues with XP Pro recovery discs being used on a machine with XP Home COA. I know it's annoying, but thought it might be prudent to make people aware of this.

That's funny, because I actually own the XP Pro recovery discs, and I can use it just fine with the XP Home COA. So there is no problem at all with using the recovery discs for XP Pro. The reason why I don't include a copy of the recovery discs is because I don't want to get involved with licensing issues with microsoft in case the discs get misused. Otherwise, the recovery discs for XP Pro WILL WORK FINE with this machine.

I was referring to the licensing issues as opposed to installation issues...I'm in no way disputing whether they would work or not. FWIW I've used T42 XP Pro discs on an A31p with 2000 Pro COA and, even with the few necessary driver addons that I had to find, the installation worked. You're doing the right thing re. keeping on the safe side with licensing issues. That's all

I was just afraid that potential buyers may be put off because they may not understand fully what you wrote. I'm sure that nobody would like to use XP Home anyway. Moreover, a clean install of XP Pro or Vista on this machine is VERY FAST. That's the first thing I did when I got the machine, and it was even fast with 512mb ram. With 2gb, IT JUST SCREAMS. Even Vista Business runs flawlessly on it.

I just saw this, but I dislike Ebay. The price is reasonable considering the 2 gig of RAM and fast drive.

I'm OK with no operating system, since I am a Tech Net subscriber and can install my own. Also, do you have any spare hard drives for this machine so I could switch between XP or Vista? (for extra money, of course)

I would pay via Postal Money Order. Let me know how you would like to do this.

Also, regarding the harddrive, unfortunately but I don't have any other harddrive left lying around the house, because I used the slow drive that came with this machine as an external harddrive for backup purposes. If you want to use XP and Vista concurrently though, I suggest that you dual-boot, it's much faster and easier than keeping two different harddrives with two different operation systems.
