I'm not sure why this is still available. This is an awesome, barely used machine with great features (Core Duo, DVD burner, etc.) and an on-site warranty for 2+ years.

I know people prefer T-series machines but for a slight thickness and weight penalty, this is a super alternative.

I've owned several of every R-series model offered, R30, R31, R32, R40, R50, R51, R52, R60 & R61, and they have all been very good machines. Since the R50's, several internal components and design details have been shared with the T-series machines.

Pick it up!

Ed, if this had an SXGA+ screen I'd have bought this for someone here before you bumped it the first time ... I am VERY surprised that this is still available.

Come one people, take it already! Amazing price ...

I agree that this unit looks great, but you need to understand, most of us already have way too many Thinkpads to play with!

LOL, how true PW, how true!

But seriously, any newcomer who buys from underclocker won't be disappointed! Very fair with his pricing and right on the money with his descriptions and excellent communication!

My guess is that this will be gone by the weekend!

I may be interested...the only thing I'm concerned about is the thickness...Just how thick is it? Is it a lot thicker than a T41 for example?

Well...from IBM...

T41 dimensions --> 12.2" x 10.0" x 1.0-1.2"

T60 dimensions --> 12.2" x 10.0" x 1.0-1.2"

R60 dimentsions --> 12.4" x 10.2" x 1.35-1.46"

Hope this helps, PM me if you'd like to proceed. Thanks!

I find my 14" R60 to be very portable, but everyone's different. The thickness doesn't really bother me. The only area where the T series might be better would be the lid. If you are carrying it in a bag with a bunch of books and stuff, the extra lid protection may be worth the cost.

The R60 is as very close cousin to the T60, and this is a fantastic deal for someone looking for either machine. Good luck with the sale Ed.

Quick question: is it made out of the same rubberized type material as the T series?

Actually, no.

All R-series machine, from R30 to R61, have ABS plastic LCD covers (not rubberized), except for the 14.1" widescreen R61's. They have the same finish as T-series machines.

Ed/ahammad, sorry for the wrong information. I got confused between R61 and R60.
