WTB: soft dome TrackPoint caps (Pic)

I've got too many ThinkPads and too few TrackPoint caps, maybe someone can help me balance things out. :)

I prefer the soft dome ones, and I could use about six of them. I can't seem to find them any cheaper than $2 each, so I'm hoping that someone here could sell them to me for less.

Here is a lot of 20 (10 of each style) ending in less than 2 hours:

Alternately, I bought a bunch from this guy a couple of weeks ago. $3 for 3 + shipping. It works out to $1 each + $3.50 for shipping for a total of $9.50 for 6 caps. A little less than the $2 each you wanted:

That's a pretty sweet deal (the first one), but there aren't any soft dome ones included in those auctions.

Define soft dome. I thought that was the classic style? Link #2 guy has these "new style" ones too if thats what you mean:

Yes, that's soft dome. The others are soft rim and classic dome.

I've found them easily on eBay, I'm just trying to get them cheaper. Like $1 each or something.

I started out liking the soft dome too, but one day I gave the soft rim a try and never went back to the soft dome. If you haven't tried it, you ought to.

The more you buy, the cheaper they are. 9 caps are $13 with shipping (less than $1.50 each)

Actually, I liked the soft rim until I tried the soft dome. The soft dome seems to have better grip.

I will keep that in mind, in case I can't get them for less. Thanks!

But it hurts the fingertip. The soft rim does not.

My fingers are already toughened from guitar playing. :) My wrist would get tired long before my fingertips would start to hurt.

was fairly satisfied ordering this from newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834995066
shipping cost is somewhat silly, as it comes in a sturdy lenovo cardboard envelope which could simply be mailed itself for nothing. but instead they amazoned it by putting the little envelope in a large box, all by itself.

of course I would be happier if I could get all soft dome and for cheaper, heh. soft rim just feels weird, even the hated cat's tongue is better. as for the old true eraser style ones, they hurted the hell out of my fingers and fell apart pretty quickly.

also I find that these days I tend to use more and varied fingers on the trackpoint: right middle, right index, left index (in decreasing order of use).

Thanks for the info, I didn't think about looking on newegg. It's still a bit more expensive than I'm hoping for. I don't mind the classic dome or the soft rim, but I'd pick the soft dome if I had a choice.

I'm not in a terrible rush, so I'm willing to wait for a good price.
