WTB: T60 or T60p with 14" or 15" screen
WTB: T60 or T60p with 14" or 15" screen
I am looking for this laptop, focussing on SCREEN here, best screen quality available.
Not TOO concerned with processor speed, HD, DVD-R drive. I need a CD, but not a DVD-R drive.
Don't want Mobile Wireless, but DO want the IBM ATHEROS card.
Willing to pay. Would LOVE a local purchase.

Bump
Bump, would also consider nice t43 with flexview screen.
Almost had one here, but we got a bit off topic.
So, looking for T43, T43p, T60 or T60p with flexview (IPS) screen, 14" or 15", good build out. Preferably warranty, don't need CRAZY specs, since it is a work machine.

nikemen,
You quoted as "I am looking for this laptop, focussing on SCREEN here, best screen quality available. ", yet you are not interested in a UXGA?
Unless I'm wrong, the UXGA (1600x1200) on the T60P listed is the last model with Flexview screen, and it's one of the most coveted Thinkpad screen, especially now since they don't make it anymore.
I can speak first hand on the quality of the 15" UXGA IPS Flexview as I have the similar T60P. It is worth the premium. Also, such system has a very high resale value.

There is no such thing as 14" IPS FlexView LCD, not in IBM/Lenovo product line, nor has there ever been one. All FlexViews are 15", apart from 12" on X41 tablet. So, looking for T43, T43p, T60 or T60p with flexview (IPS) screen, 14" or 15", good build out.

okay
okay, so no 14" then,
I think the screen QUALITY of the 15" SXGA and UXGA should be the same, no? Just the RESOLUTION is differant?
I don't think I can handle 1600x. I tried 1400x on a 12" and it was a no go.

Boe-Hydis LCD used on UXGA T60p has higher contrast ratio than any other FlexView, 500:1 as opposed to 400:1. Apart from that, they are all very similar.
BTW, 1600x1200 on a 15" has lower pixel density than 1400x1050 on 12", so you may want to try out UXGA LCD before deciding on settling for SXGA+ machine, just to see whether you can handle it...a very worthwhile test in my opinion.
