Looking for the Bluetooth card for the A31's

#1 Post by SaberX » Sun Feb 17, 2008 11:10 pm

I'm looking to get the internal bluetooth card for my A31P.

I am almost sure that this model is the same one that works in many thinkpads.I'll look up the part # ,dont know it off hand.
Looking to get one cheap as i can also.
I dont want to pay 25.00 -30.00 for one.As i would just get a cheap usb bluetooth adapter.

Not to spoil your parade, but have you located the antennas for wireless and BT yet?

That will be more of a problem...BT card can be used from later models, like T4x/R5X...

I have looked at the bluetooth antennas , they are hard to find.
But i have this short wi-fi antenna here i was going to use and just stick it next to the BT card.I know its not the best but i'll just use the bluetooth for a mouse that will be next to the laptop anyway.Or maybe my cell phone. What ever it would be it would only be at the most two or three feet from the thinkpad.

If your "short antenna" looks like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/MINI-PCI-WIRELESS-8 ... dZViewItem
then no problem with the signal, I have this in my R40 and it works like a charm with my cellphone for even a 5 meters distance.
X60t - 3GB RAM, 60GB HDD, currently no battery, SXGA+
X61t - 4GB RAM, 120GB SSD, 1 hour battery, SXGA+ with bubbles
T530 - i7-3630QM, 16GB RAM, 240+480GB SSDs, 3G, Full HD LCD, 9 cell battery

Yep thats the same one i have here.
When i got my X30 thats what was used for the minipci wireless card antenna's.They work great for that alsoStrong single even tho they were under the keyboard. But i have the X30 now with a wireless lcd lid with bulit in antennas so i have the two short antennas left over.
I figgered they would be good for internal bluetooth someday.
