[SOLD]: Linksys WRT55AG Wireless Router
[SOLD]: Linksys WRT55AG Wireless Router
I bought it but then got a N router instead (Linksys WRT350N) so now i'm just selling this one off.
Linksys WRT55AG Wireless RouterThe Linksys Dual-Band Wireless A+G Access Point gives you universal wireless connectivity. It's the best way to add wireless capability to your existing wired network, or to add bandwidth to your wireless installation.
The Dual-Band Wireless A+G Access Point actually contains two separate wireless connectivity radio transceivers, which support all three popular wireless networking specifications. The first transceiver uses the 2.4GHz radio band, supporting both the widely-used and inexpensive Wireless-B (802.11b) standard at 11Mbps, and the new, almost five times faster, Wireless-G (802.11g) at 54Mbps. The second radio operates in the 5GHz band, and supports Wireless-A (802.11a) networking, also at 54Mbps. Since the two radios operate in different bands, they can work simultaneously, blanketing your wireless zone with high-speed bandwidth.
To protect your data and privacy, the A+G Access Point can encrypt all wireless transmissions. The MAC Address filter lets you decide exactly who has access to your wireless network while Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) puts your network on the cleanest channel in your location. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.
With the Linksys Dual-Band Wireless A+G Access Point, you'll have the best of all worlds -- Wireless-B for legacy compatibility, and both Wireless-G and Wireless-A for high-speed access.

it's a V2 apparently. So yeah... no DD-WRT just yet but it works great as it is out the box.
Comes with lots of lil things there.

well it's range is good but the major benefit in my opinion is the A band so that way you can run interference free and get greater speeds. The 2.4Ghz band is full of everything, cordless phones, microwaves, bluetooth devices and other wifi... 5Ghz... nice and clean.
5Ghz doesn't give you the same range as 2.4Ghz but it's not substantially less either. Your speeds via wireless will deifnitely be better tho even at lower signals cuz of less noise in the frequency. You think your downloads from your ISP cant be faster? Try the A frequency and you'll be amazed

yeah, it's defintiely faster than G for the reasons mentioned. Depending on your location it might not be much faster but if you have lots of neighbours with wifi then odds are most of them are in the 2.4GHz space so your jump to 5Ghz will keep your signals clean and free and you will also have less hackers to worry about

That's the reason i had 802.11A in my previous house, most people don't have a A card and because of that i didn't use the encryption and my wifi was always open.and you will also have less hackers to worry about
