Is there somebody that can rent/lend me a ThinkPad? I need a properly-working ThinkPad because my R51 needs fixing (I can use it but only in safe mode) and I still need to fix my T41 and its going to take me a while for me to do these stuff (both ThinkPads have the graphics card problem). I would like to rent/borrow a X6x (including the tablet), a T6x, an R6x, a 14 inch R52, or a 15 inch T4x.
(I will also consider a 14 inch T42 or T43, any other R5x, and an X4x.)

Borrowing from someone local would be ideal.

I'm not particularly using my T23 (1 gig, 80 gig 7200 drive), and could certainly loan it for a little while. But you seem to be requesting something a little more recent / powerful.

Art, 10 miles down I-5.

I think few people would be willing to send you a laptop for free, because they don't know whether you would just run away with it, and because there's always a chance that you would damage the laptop somehow. To increase the chance that you'll get something, you may need to actually buy that laptop, use it for however long you need to, send it back to that person and ask him/her to return part or all of that money to you. (Laptops depreciate 20% to 40% annually, so IMO you shouldn't get all your money back.)
