My father recieved a IBM R60 thru a raffle at work and asked me if i wanted it or to see what we could get for it. So I'm coming on here and see what people think. It is brandnew in the box it was only opened to inspect it and see what it looked like. It has the 2.0 dual core processor, 1gb mem, 120gb hd, and built in 802.11n wireless and it has the 128mb ATI video card and a 1400x1050 display, dvd burner. My question is what would something like this be worth?

My wild guess would be between $600 and $700 depending on the exact specs and warranty info, let's see these first...

From IBM:

Product: ThinkPad R60 9461-DUU

Original description: Intel Core 2 Duo T7200(2GHz), 1GB RAM, 120GB 5400rpm HD, 15in 1400x1050 LCD, 128MB ATI Radeon X1400, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11n wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, IEEE 1394, Fingerprint reader, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

That has to be one of the sweetest R60's ever made! Congrats on the win!

That was the good news. The bad news is that R60's don't sell particularly well because people prefer the thinner and nearly identical T60's. Plus, new R61's start at about $450. One spec'd like that would certainly be more, but the prices have gone down.

All that being said, I personally find the 15" SXGA+ LCD a perfect combination of size and resolution. I'm going to second George's estimate.

You might want to check the warranty status and post that, too. Their might be a three year warranty on that model, which would be great. Good luck.

Someone will be happy with it!
