I am loooking to buy a charger. It should work on an R52 but arent they all the same?

Uh, no. There have been several changes made during the years and even if the plug appears to be the same, the current or wattage rating of the power supply can be different. For the R52, it has been specified to use the 72 watt (16V 4.5A) adapter. The older systems, like the 600X, used a 54 watt (16V 3.36A) supply. The plugs are the same but it's not a good idea to use those lower wattage supplies with systems such as the R52. There's nothing wrong with running a 600X on a 72 watt adapter, however. Recently, the supplies have changed to a different type of plug that feeds the system with 20V.

There's many different part numbers (FRU) for the 72 watt adapters. Just make sure that the output rating says "16V 4.5A" and you should be fine.
