For Sale: Powerbook G4, Dell D600

#1 Post by Ryan_C » Thu Mar 27, 2008 10:53 pm

offers accepted!

Apple Powerbook G4
1.33ghz G4
1gb ram (2x1gb, see explaination)
combo drive
15"
Mac OS X Leopard

One of the ram slots does Not work. It will, however, come with 2x1gb, although it will only see 1gb.

Some cosmetic damage; slot-load drive has the top part bent a bit from an overzealous apple employee, same with a bit in the back. A speck of dust inside the screen, about .75cm tall and .5cm wide, total. Keyboard upper-left corner is sticking out a bit, and the powerbutton led is broken. No other flaws to speak of. None of these affect performance except the screen bit.

$420 and shipping?
pictures here, password = guest_password

Dell D600
Pentium M 1.3 ghz
2x512mb Ram
40gb HDD
Wireless G
Windows XP Home license

Condition: Not the best. Scratches, scrapes, but the important thing is, everything works. Pictures on request.
Hmm, $not for sale right now

Asus M2A-VM + AMD X2 4600+

The board is the M2A-VM; Will come with everything (io shield plate, cables, etc). The CPU will come with everything, as well. Both items are quite new (Purchased in late May). The CPU is a Windsor F3 stepping, never overclocked. I'll throw in an ATI X300se video card (Made by asus) if you take this, for 4 monitor goodness (dvi + vga on the board). Just put in a stick of ram or 4, a power supply, and a hard drive, and you've got a very nice computer. I paid $65 for the board and $69 for the CPU (total 134) plus tax; Yours for $110, offers also accepted.

As always, items will be guaranteed non-doa. All prices are not shipped, shipping will be from Vancouver, Canada. Locals are welcome to pick up, discount available. Pictures available on request.

Thanks for watching.

Hi, Ryan, I got the item but I have two questions for you because you did not tell me those:
Why is there a small crack on the base near the HDD cover.
What is the supervise password on the machine.
You can send the password to my email, Thank you.

Ryan,
This A31p is locked by supervisor password. Could you please tell me what is the password?

Hi, Ryan, I am waiting for your reply. The A31P can not be use because it locked by supervisor password.

Sorry to here your problem.
But witch password is it that would still let you use and boot to windows even if when it's set and you dont know it?
I dont want to go fooling around with setting any passwords on my A31P.Just incase i do something wrong and lock up the laptop.I'm maybe the worst person around for keeping passwords.
Anyway i hope Ryan gets back to you soon with the info or a refund. It would be realy bad for someone to sell a laptop without telling someone thats it has a password on it.

I have sent a PM to Ryan_C asking that he respond to HenryW, as soon as possible, in one fashion or another...or this ad will be pulled. Please note: I am not asking Ryan to post a response in the open. A PM will be sufficient.

I recommend that anyone else interested in one of these laptops, wait until this is resolved. Four public requests, and an unknown number of PMs definately deserve to be answered, even if the answer is only by PM.

For the record, an admin has informed me that Ryan logged into the forum today, so it is not like he hasn't been around to see the PMs or posts.

FWIW, anyone selling a Thinkpad with any BIOS passwords should disclose that fact in the FS ad.

Sorry, I didn't know if you got the PM or not.

Regarding a supervisor password: I do not have the password. I am sorry I did not disclose this information, but I can confirm that it is possible to install an operating system and use it; I have done that before sending it out. Please, PM me if you have any problems with that, and I will do my best to rectify this issue.

Sorry for the inconvience. Completely my fault for not disclosing that information.

Thanks for looking.
