WTB 512 MB PC2700 memory stick for a T30. I am unable to load XP on My T30 and changing memory is my last hope. Looking to purchase a PC2700 512MB memory module.

Have you done MEMTEST on the RAM you currently have in that T30?

BTW, the T30 can take 1GB PC2100/2700 modules, in case you didn't know.

motero, I have a PC2100 stick for sale here:

I'd first suggest following PianoWizard's advice and test if your memory is indeed bad or something else is causing the problem.

I have run memtest on my existing memory and a 1 GB one that I have. They pass no problem I tried a multiple hard drives for the install and they all pass. Nothing fails on testing any components. I can load Win 2k no problem. It always fails on the XP load. It seems that culprit is the loading OLE component. I have tried different XP media as well with the same result. I figured I have 2 choices left, 512 MB of memory or trying the XP install disks. Memroy seemd the cheaper solution.

Did you try using only one memory stick at a time?

I have a couple of idea for you. I ran across a horrible load issue a while back on a T23 that I'd had for while. My brother suggested that I take out some components and it turned out that the Ethernet MPCI adapter was bad. So along with other stuff like what Gator suggest, you can try that.

On another front, if you really want to try something different, you can send me your HDD, and I'll do a load for you on my T30 with restore disks that I got from TFFLIVEMB2; then I can send it back to you.
