Potentially FS: ThinkPad X31 Laptop

#1 Post by iamdmc » Tue Apr 08, 2008 10:21 pm

Hi there,

I'm considering parting with my beloved X31 laptop. It's served me well, but I find myself not using it as much since work provided me with my X61s. It's in fine condition, and specs are as outlined below:

ThinkPad X31 (2672-C2G)

CPU: Intel Pentium M/Centrino 1.4GHz (1MB L2 cache, 400MHz FSB, 0.13micron)
Motherboard: IBM X31 Motherboard
HDD: Fujitsu 80GB 5400RPM (8MB buffer) - less than 1 year old
RAM: Elpida & Micron 1GB (2x 512MB)
Optical: None
Graphics: Integrated 16MB ATI
Screen: 12.1" XGA LCD TFT
Sound: Integrated
Security: Security Chip
Networking: Integrated Ethernet, Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG, Integrated Bluetooth , Integrated IR
I/O: 2x USB2.0, 1x Firewire400, 1x VGA, 1x Parallel, 1x RJ-45, 1x RJ-11, Port Replicator Interface, Sound ports
Battery: 1x IBM OEM (4h), 1x Non-OEM (4h)
Mouse: Trackpoint
Machine Type: 2672-C2G

OS: Windows XP Professional SP2 (with COA)

As you can see, it's has decent specs. I even purchased a second battery when I first got the unit in case the OEM battery bundled with the laptop didn't work (which ended up not to be the case). Both batteries have about 100-150 cycles on them, are "green" condition based on the Thinkvantage Power Manager, and last 3-3.5 hours. It's a very clean machine and well taken care of.

Known imperfections:
-Average Wear and Tear on outside, but looks very good and has no deep scratches.
-Average "shine" on keyboard
-The plastic under the 3 sound ports has a crack in it, which is just wear and tear from taking the CF-card out so many times
-Pressure Mark on screen and one dead pixel

So how much do You think it's Worth?

I'll take it for $275! :P
Although, I dare say it's probably worth quite a bit more, even with a bad pixel & pressure mark.

yeah, i didnt notice the memory and HD upgrades, still screens are a price killer if they arent perfect. most users are more picky about the screen then what they care about having lots of ram and a nice HD.

maybe 350$ shipped... ebay averages is right around that for a plain one. some with the mini-dock. just make sure anyone who buys it is aware of the screen before they recieve it.
