OK, now I am questioning the existence of it. Does anyone have a T30 with a WiFi indicator on the LCD? This web page does not mention it...

Harry,

It does exist. However, the odds of you finding it are slim.

Put it this way: I must have owned well over a hundred T30 machines, and I remember only one, sold on eBay to a Dutch buyer three or four years ago, having that indicator. There could've been more than that, but I honestly can't recall another one.

Good luck.

Harry, I think you are chasing one rare bird indeed :banghead: A look in the HMM does not show that indicator. All that said, Good Luck! (And please post if you find a source) Tom

Tom, I actually did find a source. The only part number for the T30 clear plates is 46P3018. I'd assume that that part number would include all versions of clear plate available at the time...blue tooth, non-blue tooth, and WiFi. That part number is available from IBM for $17 and also at the link below for $15. The problem is shipping. IBM wants $13 (plus tax) for shipping and Impact wants $8.00. I am having a tough time swallowing $23 to $30 for stickers, but I may break down :).

i replaced the LCD lid/bezel on a friend's R50p and didn't think to order the clear plate kit while i was at it.   now i'm in the same boat as you having to pay $8 for the plates plus $13 for shipping and tax -- and it's something that could be sent in a padded mailer for $1.50.

I looked at every picture I could find on the internet of T30's with WiFi, and not one showed a clear plate with a WiFi indicator on it...hmmm.
