I have purchased one of these from "goodies4sale" and you get exactly what's in the picture. Note that the box indicates that the device is for use in EU member states, so it may use more channels than a US device. It should not matter because your access point will not use those channels.
I will be installing one in my 600X... with no antenna just yet and will report on my progress.

The item works in my 600X. I'm using it right now to post this message.
I've got no antenna yet, and I'm a foot away and have "Good" signal strength.
The 600X seemed a little confused the first time I powered on with the 2200BG installed. It showed the logo screen, made two short chirpy beeps and restarted, but was fine after that.
I can get Low signal from a couple more feet away. Now to get some antennae!

I am not exactly sure whether this will work on X31. For my T30, I have to do the no-1802 BIOS hack. Probably you will need to do the same thing.
I don't take PayPal. I am not a frequent seller so I have not used it to receive money.

Hi there, good to see a "customer" of mine. Glad to know that the card work on your machine. By the way, I just realized the EU states thing - the cards are working on my machines so I have never paid any attention to it.
Install antenna could take quite some time. For my T30, it has built-in wireless so it is simply a snap-on. But for my HP, I have to dismantle the whole unit to install it. The wire has to go under the motherboard - and HP did not install the $1 wire (they will charge $20 as a part!) if you don't order built-in wireless at the first place.

Also, an interesting article:
http://www.jordanautomations.com/tpa31- ... grade.html
Finding out a lot about these little connectors on the mini-pci WiFi cards....the name of this little connector (where the antenna plugs on) is called:
U.FL, MHF, MC, IPEX Connector and U.fl/Hirose, or just Hirose. If you do a search on these in Google ("Internal laptop antenna _______") then a bunch of stuff comes up. it is actually difficult to find an internal antenna this way, but you do find a ton of alternatives, including how to port the wire to the outside of the laptop in order to connect a more substantial wireless antena.
You might just find, for instance, this option very appealing (depending on what you are wanting to do):
