Hi guys,

I'm thinking about selling my laptop as I'm in a good position to buy a new one. I was wondering if you could tell me how much its worth... here are the specs:

Thinkpad T42
Pentium M 1.7 (735)
Radeon 9700 pro (64mb)
1024 mb of ram (upgraded from 512 with an extra stick)
SXGA+
2 6-cell batteries (one near full charge, one relatively low, but still holds one)
IBM 2200bg wireless (upgraded from Intel 802.11b)
40gb HD.

The condition is quite good. the motherboard was replaced a few months back.

Thanks for you help, guys!!

Location is important - you can sell it at higher price in Europe than North America.

Also, I suggest you please specify all of the following:

- the exact model/type number (e.g. 2373-N1G); this information is found on the label at the bottom (potential buyers would surely want to know if it has a 14.1" LCD or a 15" LCD!)

- does the LCD have any dead or stuck pixels (you may check this using the free program Dead Pixel Buddy

- the condition of LCD otherwise; does it have any scratches, blemishes, pressure marks, dark or light areas and/or is there any dust (or hairs?) inside the LCD?

- cosmetic condition of lid, keyboard, palm rest, CD-ROM/DVD-COMBO etc. (Your description: "The condition is quite good" is not overwhelming precise...).

- warranty status? Please check the expiration date from the IBM warranty Status Lookup site

- are you willing to ship abroad? (e.g. to forum members living in Europe?)

- is the Windows XP COA (Certificate Of Authenticity) intact? --> the label at the bottom,

- are there any known problems, or is anything simply in absolutely perfect working order?

PS: Note that the GPU is (most likely!) a Radeon 9600, not 9700!

Good luck with the sale!

Johan

Nice spec's, without all the details requested above, I'd say about $400.

$350-400 range sounds about right.

Woah, I can't believe i forgot some basic stuff..

It is out of warranty, model number is 14.1" 2373-8xu with the good keyboard. I do have the original sticker, but its not on the machine (the backboard was replaced, but i do have the original). There is minor blemish at the edfe of the lcd, but thats it (no dead/stuck pixels). There's a very tiny little mark on the side of the lid, but its not even noticeable. Mostly everything has been replaced recently, so aside from that mark, and the lcd blemish, its in very good condition.

I'm willing to ship wherever people will pay! :)

You'll need to add your location into your profile - not just because of the forum requirement, but then we'll know where you're shipping from :)
