I've got one 39T5433 marked "servicable used part"
I've got the bottom of a 2373-AMU, the lower chassis (not the palmrest, the keyboard, etc), it does have the ultrabay cage, it's got both hinges, and the antennas.
a 2373 amu like the above, but no hinges, antennas, but it doesn have the PC card cage.
a 2378 epu exactly like the second 2373.
I've got a broken keyboard, a 08k4957 - 42T708078 some keys work, some don't, the power works, the "f" and "6" keys have dents, and the right trackpad button in missing.
I have a 93p4696 that I suppose you could use, but it's not in good condition, but the trackpad's fine.
I have a spare backup battery.
I'm open to trades with t4x series compatible 802.11g cards, 512mb, or 1GB ram sticks for a t41, a replacement LCD front bezel for a 14.1" t41.
I have a 6 cell t40 battery I've taken apart, but the cells are wrapped in red. I haven't separated or inspected the cells yet, but I'm looking for new replacement cells, or info on them.
also 2.5" hard drives still under warrenty in either PATA or SATA.
Thanks
*edit* I don't have hdds to trade, I'm looking for people to offer them.
prices, these are all just off the hip, $40 for the serviceable used mobo, $60 for the others. I'll make sure the mobos boot before I sell them. $5 for the other parts. shipping not included.

What sizes are we talking about?

Interested in the 2378-epu if the mobo boots up into BIOS and is still available.

the used servicable one, and the amu without the hinges showed the thinkpad splash screen, spent about 30 secs chugging, and then it displayed "error"
the other two did the same, except they displayed "fan error" so I can either take apart my t41, make it think it's got a fan attached, or ... I dunno. anyway, that's the news.

Please provide a little more detail on each item (condition would be helpful) that is still available and cost, thank you.

Still interested in the 2378-epu.
Do both USB ports work as USB2.0?
Is the 'fan error' only there because there is no fan attached and would it go away if you attach one?
If so, first dibs on it!

I'll get pictures for those that are interested in more then the motherboards. as for their condition, they're dusty. for what exactly is included, the pics will show that. one palmrest in bad condition, the trackpad's ok, one partially working keyboard, important keys don't work, but power does. the bottom half of the lower chassis is basically what is there, they opened them up to get at the cpu.
as for how they would fare if a fan were present, I dunno. I'll try to figure something out to get past that error.

I'm assuming the CPU is still in there?

When I test a laptop for computing function, I install a CPU. I am selling the CPUs seperately.
oh, and someone mentioned items lacking prices? I thought I had prices for everything.

I've got a box with 4 working motherboards, 3 I booted into knoppix from a ultrabay optical, one I booted into windows XP.
1: 39T5433 - T41, ATI Radeon 9000 video
2: 2373-AMU - T41, ATI Radeon 9000 SXGA video, w base
3: 2373-AMU - T41, ATI Radeon 9000 SXGA video, w base
4: 2373-EPU - T41, ATI Radeon 9000 w base (SXVGA I think)
one of them has hinges, antennas, and the flat LCD cable (sxga)
I'm looking for about $250. they're packed well, I'd rather not seperate them now.

Good deal for somebody...$63 @ for working T4X boards. Heck if you have a bad board buy all of them, replace the bad one, keep one for a spare, and sell the other two. You'd be way ahead of the game.
T41 boards

OK, I am trying to figure this out - are these the same 4 boards as previously listed with different issues, or are these some OTHER T41 boards that you are saying all test good?
Please clarify, I would buy the four boards IF they are testing good.
Thanks

I'm
second in line to purchase if these are good (meaning no GPU, USB or other issues) boards. Just let me know.
(Note: Just because they boot up, doesn't mean they are "good". If no further testing was done, they would be "boots up" and "no further testing done" motherboards. I have three of those I'd be happy to sell for $63 each - except I've done quite a bit more testing than that

)

I'll do any testing you're interested in. I have a total of 6 boards, I got a t4x off craigslist, the only thing that worked was the LCD, and the CPU, I got a bulk buy of 5 boards that dumb salvagers had been over. they tore off the tops, sold the CPUs, mem, and hard drives. I wanted to sell them individually, one person made an offer for all of them, I tested them to that person's satisfaction, and boxed them up, it looks like he backed out. If I have to go back in and retest them I will because these aren't getting any younger, and now I need to get a new caddy for the t41, and oh, replace the cells in the battery.
same boards. doesn't look like they have gpu problems, I can test usb... dunno what that's about. I can run through some opengl benchmarks, there's that one with the multiproc speedup thing. cinema or something.
I'm DC local, so you can test them however, and with whatever suits your fancy if you're in the area.

Now I am REALLY confused!
Based on the earlier posts, these do not seem to be properly working boards.

the two that booted with fan error earlier booted without error when... well... a CPU hsf was plugged in. lemme dig up what whappened on the other two that had unspecific errors, but they booted to OS as I said.
