WTB x61 with base - Advice wanted also. NYC

#1 Post by x31_RAM » Sat Jun 07, 2008 9:48 am

Guys,

Looking for a great deal on a high-spec X-61 and need advice. NON-tablet preffered (that help bring down the price?)

Im not techy, no idea on prices etc.. so, if someone could post an opportunity and would be great if someone else could suggest if the deal is great.

Need it to have decent graphics capability.
Want it to be powerful so decent memory would be nice
HardDrive doesnt have to big - I store minimal localy
Ultrabase doesnt have to burn.

This will be my one big PC purchase for the next 2 years - so want it to be tip-top.

Will be looking on ebay also, so if anyone see's something on there that's great - can you let me know?

Please can you put as much info on the detail as possible so I can learn as I go?

thanks guys,

Chris

I'm selling one, link in my sig. Generally, commenting on prices of items posted in a forum is bad taste (I know I would not appreciate it). Moreover, value is a very subjective thing. For something like an X61 that is still being sold, compare the price to what it would cost from Lenovo or a reseller and decide if you're comforable with the price.
now: X61, T42p
before: 600E, T23, X20, T40, X40, X31, T60
FS: Travel Bezel, 100GB drive (OEM Lenovo)

To answer two of your initial questions:

a) Graphic capabilities will be the same on all X61/s units
b) Non-tablet is cheaper than tablet.

Several nice machines offered throughout this Marketplace, read the first three pages...you should be able to find what you're looking for within one hour.

Good luck.
