I am looking for a set of recovery disks for a T61P Vista Business 64-bit. Even if you don't have one to offer, any information on how I might obtain a set would be helpful. Thanks!

you might give lenovo a call and request a recovery set.

back when i bought my a31p, ibm sent me the xppro set right out, free of charge. i was within 30 days of purchase, but i think i've read here that folks have been successful with ibm/lenovo sending disks as long as you're under warranty (might have to pay for 'em if beyond 30-60 days). i think the limit is one set tho, so if you bought your machine used and the prior owner already got the set, you're probably out of luck.

as an alternative, there's a seller here who as many sets for sale for less than lenovo charges. user id: tpcollector.

Thanks for the reply. The problem that I am having is that I am just out of warranty.

Actually I made a set of recovery disks when first received the laptop (by burning my own DVDs), when I tried to use them for recovery, it wouldn't work...the computer wouldn't read the first recovery disk. Talk about frustration!...so that is where I am right now.

lenovo should be able to sell you a set, especially if you're the original owner.   they're about $53 after shipping and tax.

tell them that you're aware the machine is out of warranty but your hard drive failed and you need to recover the OS onto a new drive.
