FS: Big Lot of X31 Parts

Hi Everyone,

I'm clearing out my extra X31 parts, and don't really feel like selling them individually. So what I've done is put together a "lot" of several parts, and listed the whole shebang on eBay. I'm not sure how much it will go for, or if I'll even get bids at all. Anyway here is the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0240916887

If anyone needs something urgently, let me know and I can probably end the auction early.

Best,
Jake

Here is a quick list of the parts included:

- X31 Full Set of Factory Recovery Disks, 5 Disks (Installs Windows XP Pro, all drivers, IBM software, and IBM recovery partition)
- X31 Magnesium alloy lid with ThinkPad logo
- X31 CPU Fan and Heat Sink Assembly (Brand new, works perfectly!)
- X31 Keyboard W/ Trackpoint (Great condition, with new Trackpoint nib! Key cap for "PgUp" button is missing.)
- DVD-RW Multi-Burner P/N: 92P6014 (Comes with case, but may not be working properly. I was unable to burn a DVD.)
- X-Series LCD bezel piece (This is the trim that goes around the LCD screen.)
- X31 Extra external LED strip decal (includes Bluetooth icon)
- X-Series Service Guide, and lots of additional documentation (Thick book with official assembly/repair instructions.)
- Extra MAC address sticker
- Large bag of various ThinkPad screws
- Extra ThinkPad trackpoint nibs (2, in original bag)
- Various ThinkPad trim stickers (Strip of round screw covers, and strip of rectangular grip stickers.)

fasterbybike,

Thank you for the heads up! The link was working fine for me, but then I logged out of eBay to see what happens-- sure enough, the auction is not available yet.

I guess I jumped the gun by posting the link already, since I've scheduled the auction to start tomorrow night. The link should be viewable tomorrow (thurs) at 7:30PM PST!

Thanks again,
Jake

Is this lid actually metal alloy? All I've ever seen is plastic.

Thanks!

Well, by magnesium alloy I meant the standard ThinkPad material! Someone correct me if I'm wrong here...

It feels like plastic to me too, but I do notice that sometimes the material will get really cold like metal things tend to.

IBM/Lenovo went in 2 directions on this. They had the higher-end lines that had metals impregnated into the lid materials vs. others that just had some sort of plastic. Supposedly, the "T" in the original T20 had a certain amount of titanium in the lids making them stronger for that they'd be at the thickness they used. I know that on my T41, it always feels cold when it's been laying around in A/C vs. my wife's R51 which doesn't.

Maybe some of the guys on this forum who have have more info can get into the specifics.

Hi Everyone,

Well, regardless of whether the lid is magnesium or plastic...

Both of these listing are now active, so have a look if you're interested! And be sure to let me know if you need any of these parts urgently, and I'll try to end the auction early.

Best,
Jake

Hi Everyone,

It looks like I can no longer cancel the auction, since it ends in less than 12 hours from now and bids have been placed. At this point you will have to bid through eBay if you want the parts.

Thanks again,
