FS: T30 Bases w Motherboard/CPU

#1 Post by BobA » Tue Aug 05, 2008 1:11 am

I have six T30 system bases with motherboards and CPUs - no LCDs (the LCDs were stripped before I got them). All but one boots to BIOS but I am unable to test them beyond that.

$50 - T30-01/XGA - 2366-AU8, 2.0GHz, Boots to BIOS, no memory problem - Base condition: 6/10 (right rear corner broken)
$55 - T30-02/XGA - 2366-MU1, 1.8GHz, Boots to BIOS, no memory problem - Base condition: 9/10
$30 - T30-03/SXGA - 2366-97U, 2.0GHz, Boots to BIOS, memory problem in lower slot - Base condition: 6/10 (left rear corner broken)
$30 - T30-04/XGA - 2367-4U5, 2.0GHz, Boots to BIOS, memory problem, powers off - Base condition: 5/10 (left rear corner broken)
$40 - T30-05/XGA - 2366-PU5, 1.6GHz, Powers on/no fan/Fails to post, can't test - Base: 7/10 (left rear broken)
$55 - T30-06/XGA - 2366-MU9, 1.8GHz, Boots to BIOS, no memory problem - Base condition: 9/10

None have LCD, keyboard, HDisk, HD caddy/cover, media drive, memory, battery, or AC adapter. All have modems and one has a Bluetooth modem ($10 extra). I have two 802.11b WiFi cards ($10 extra).

I have four XP Pro COAs and four memory covers. Add $10 if you want a set of covers.

Shipping in the US: $15

Just for clarification:

I updated the post to avoid confusion - these do NOT come with keyboard, battery, or AC adapter as well as no LCD, HDisk, HD caddy/cover, media drive, memory, battery, or AC adapter. You will get a base (condition noted), the motherboard, the CPU and fan, a modem, and all of the inside guts. I have not opened these up.

With no LCD, do you mean: NO LCD panel, or NO lid?

Re: T30 LCDs

#5 Post by BobA » Fri Aug 15, 2008 12:22 pm

Neither lid nor LCD. I bought a bulk purchase - all had the lid/LCDs removed. Some of the plastics look like they had been damaged when the LCDs were removed.

The motherboards tested as noted with an external monitor. I did not do extensive testing of the motherboards because I didn't have a hard-drive with XP Pro loaded.

So this purchase would be for a motherboard and inside T30 components.

T30 2366-61U dead mobo
T30 2366-81U still works but not being currently used. I think I'll rectify that situation.
T40 2373-19U dead
(2) T42 2373-JXU with Flexview LCDs. One with either GPU or southbridge issue.
T43 2687-D4U with possible software problem. Awaiting R&Rs.

No - What is that problem? I only have one stick of memory. Does it require having two?

Bob,

T30's are notoriously known for having only one slot work as they get older. It's a solder problem on the board. That's the problem. Not all T30's acquire this problem but a lot do.

Thanks, Ron. Can I test the slots individually - or do I need two sticks of memory? If I can test them individually, I will do so and report the results here.

You can check the slots individually, no problem...

Re: T30 Bases

I've tested for the memory problem and posted the results above. Three of the systems are fine - two have the memory problem - and one has a dead fan so I can't test the system.

If anyone is interested in the whole lot, make me an offer. I'd like to get rid of these. Pictures of the base top and bottom are available (except for T30-06).

All of them have been sold. Sorry - I do have some very clean, empty base plastics and good, working keyboards. PM me if you are interested.
