FS/FT: X40 (2371-8VU) very nice, ship worldwide, $400
the basics:
ThinkPad X40 2371-8VU
Original description:
P M 1.2GHz LV
512MB RAM.....................now 1GB (2x512MB)
40GB 4200rpm HDD
12.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD
Intel Extreme
IBM 802.11a/b/g wireless(MPCI)
Modem(CDC)
1Gb Ethernet(LOM)
Secure Chip
8 cell Li-Ion battery....in green, 15 cycles, holds 57.3 of original 61.9WhWinXP Pro
This is going up for sale/trade due to a change of plans. I'm mostly interested in trading it for a larger ThinkPad, but will not turn down a cash proposal.
Machine is in very good to excellent condition, with minimal wear and tear, 9 or better on a 1-10 scale. LCD is the best one I've ever seen on a X4x unit, with no pressure marks or other imperfections.
What I'm looking for:
T30 ( SXGA+ units only)
R40 (15" SXGA+ units only)
G41 (15" SXGA+ units only)
A31p
R50p
R51/52 (SXGA+ only)
T42/42p (SXGA+ or higher)
T43/43p (SXGA+ or higher)
Bottom line for any of the machines in question is: Talk to me. I'm reasonable and expect you to be, too.
If you feel that you have a ThinkPad that is not on the list, but might interest me regardless, feel free to drop a PM...I don't bite.
The only things I expect from your machine is a perfect (or close to it) LCD and working overall condition.Everything else is subject to negotiations.
Feel free to PM me with any questions/concerns/proposals that you might have.

How well does this machine run Windows XP? For internet browsing and office applications, would it be much of an upgrade from an X23 with a 5400RPM drive?
Thanks for the information.

I'm going to say that it would. Faster HDD on P3M will give you a good boot time (don't have one to compare, but know from experience) but once the machine is running, PM, LV or not, feels, and is faster.
Hope this answers your question.

Cash price has been set at $400 plus reasonable shipping depending on your location, and, yes, I do ship worldwide.
