All 1.8" drives for X4x units are 4200rpm.

Interesting. I didn't realize they had made something like that. Here's a Lenovo page about it: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-69154

I guess it is a Hitachi C4K60 60gb drive with the Hitachi ZIF connector inside, which is unfortunately incompatible with the Toshiba ZIF connector used in Ipod drives. I wonder how they got it to work--a folded over ribbon cable inside the caddy? I also wonder if it could be adapted for use with a Toshiba-style drive, which is available in higher capacity these days.

Anyway, a google search shows these drives are very expensive and hard to come by. I'm tempted to snag it to have a spare for my X40 but I think if my existing drive fails I'll switch over to a solid state drive.

how do...don't know if your still selling it but if you are i'd like to make you an offer of $110 if you can include shipping to Scotland in your price. no rush and dispatch to great britain as a small packet by the usps First-Class Mail International shouldn't be too expensive. cheers, john.
