Feeler: R50p 15" 1.7GHz w DVD Burner

#1 Post by BobA » Fri Sep 05, 2008 3:20 pm

I will have access to 12 to 15 R50p systems (1832-NU1) later next week.

Here are the specs:
P M 1.7GHz (Banias/1M cache), 15" UXGA(1600x1200) TFT LCD, 128MB ATI FireGL T2, CD-RW/DVD-R Multi-burner, Bluetooth/Modem(CDC), 1GB Ethernet(LOM), Intel 802.11b wireless(MPCI), Secure Chip(TCPA), WinXP Pro

Each would come with 512M of RAM, the DVD burner, battery, AC, but no hard-drive and no HD caddy/cover. Is there any interest on these systems if I price them at $300? I will need to go and thoroughly test each one - I don't want to do this if there is no interest.

Please PM me with your thoughts. Thanks.

I might be interested, pending the condition of the machines. I need a Linux box. A great screen don't hurt either. How much does a hard drive caddy cost?

PM coming Fred.

I will be selling the HD cover/caddy for $12 each.

Also - I discovered I will be testing 12 - 15 systems later this week (instead of the original 4-5 I thought). I will know the status and condition of each when I am complete with my testing.

I am acculating a list of potential buyers. I will offer the tested systems to buyers in the order on my list. Please PM me if you want to be on my list and include your email address. So far I have

Thanks -- Bob

I just wanted to chime in that I got in on Bob's similar T42p deal. A very fine deal and I ended up with a nice backup machine on the cheap.

+1 on the T42p. I'm typing on one of Bob's right now, and it is nothing short of amazing.

For those of you that have never owned a UXGA machine, they are worth every penny.
