I'm looking for 2x 1 GB DDR-2700(?) SDRAM SO-DIMMs. Open to links at e-tailers as well as private party sales.
Is it really about $50 for each SO-DIMM? I hope I didn't miss the bottom of the market.
Thanks for everyone's help.

Paul88:
Thanks for the link. I perused my local Fry's ad in the newspaper and found it was $10 cheaper.
If I miss out this time, I may have to wait a while or buy someone's discards.

I got that for my X40. It works fine. I should get another one for my T42p.

I should have been more helpful in my earlier post, seeing that everyone else has been so.
The B&M Fry's Electronics stores in the SF Bay Area are selling 1 GB PC-2700 SO-DIMMs from Crucial for $49.99 with a $30 rebate. I just picked up two from the San Jose (Brokaw Ave) store this afternoon. Deal is good through Tuesday.
FYI, the $30 rebates for the Crucial and Corsair SO-DIMMs apply to purchases at both the B&M Fry's and frys.com. If anyone needs a link to the rebate form for the Crucial SO-DIMMs, let me know.
Thanks again, forum members. I wouldn't have had the courage to upgrade the hard drive in my wife's T42 (2373-5TU) without your help.

Are multiple rebate submissions permitted? Will you receive $30 rebates for each stick or just one $30 rebate?

I believe, if your order has not shipped yet you can still cancel it for a full refund.

From the PDF rebate doc:

End user must keep copies of all materials sent. Materials received become the property of Corsair and will not be returned. Please allow 8-10 weeks for receipt of check. Corsair is not responsible for lost, late or misdirected mail. Use of multiple addresses to obtain multiple rebate requests is fraudulent and could result in federal prosecution under the U.S. Mail Fraud statutes. PO Boxes are not accepted for this rebate. To check rebate status, log onto corsairmemory.status-now.com or call 1-888-941-2912. Restrictions: Limit one rebate per qualifying purchase per unique product. Limit one rebate per product line per household. Maximum rebate $470.00 per household. Valid while supplies last for purchases made in the 50 United States. Promotion is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Rebate request must be postmarked within 21 days of purchase date to qualify. Rebates mailed in after 21 days of purchase date will be denied.
IHTH.

On the Crucial rebate form, it states:
Limit (1) one rebate per product per address, except where prohibited by law.
Also included:
Excessive submissions constitute fraud and may result in federal prosecution under the U.S. mail fraud statues (Title 18, USC 1341 and 1342).
I hope this helps.

Even cheaper:

BUT one thing to watch for is that the rebates aren't valid for people outside the US.

First fry's link has free shipping, so unless you are picking up in store, it might still be cheaper.

It looks like it's not actually a change, but an entirely new promotion/rebate, as the rebate number connected with each offer is different.
I just bought one of each online (on two separate orders) and am picking it up locally at the Fry's nearest me. 2GB for $36 is pretty hard to beat!

UPS! I'm from denmark...
I have access to a US adress. But I don't understand the 4 conditions?
But it seems to be some funny offer...?
can there only be ordered 1 module or many modules?
We are some guys at work that have got some T40's
at least 20 T40 we will get. But there is no Ram modules in this, so we need at least 20 modules of 1 GB.
Any idea where we can by this as cheap as possible?
I have found this where they cost about 35$ each delivered to denmark.
http://cgi.ebay.de/1GB-SO-DIMM-DDR-PC27 ... 286.c0.m14
Reason: All employes with T40,41 and 42 will get T61. The T4X will be given to some employes for free... But without modules or only 512 MB
