LF: Z61t Thinkpad for $620 or less

#1 Post by minc3d » Tue Sep 16, 2008 12:39 am

Hello,

I am back looking for another Z61t laptop for a family member. I have been using a Z61t for about two months now and have to say it's my favorite Thinkpad of them all!

If anyone has a Z61t for sale let me know via email at DWTRASH [at] GMAIL.COM. Please include a FINAL price for the unit, shipped to 60068, with insurance. UPS or FEDEX or USPS all work for me.

This person cant spend any more than $620 on this unit and we have backup units on ebay which are coming in under this price for similar specs. So please be competitive.

PLEASE SEND PHOTOS WITH EMAIL - My family member will not consider any laptop for purchase without pics.

Here are some of the things I am concerned about most:

- Processor should PREFERRABLY be a Core 2 duo, but I will consider Core Duo.
- Screen res is PREFERRED at the WXGA+ but normal res is ok.
- Warranty is a PLUS but not required.
- 1GB of RAM at the least.
- Windows XP Pro is PREFERRED but not required.
- Condition of laptop should be VERY GOOD or better (please no broken parts, etc.)

FYI, the Z60t and Z61t models look the same but they have very different motherboards. The Z60t is basically a T43 - Pentium M platform. The Z61t is basically a T60 - Core Duo platform.

As such, the Z60t models should be well under $500, some starting at $300. The Z61t models should be in the range you listed, some starting in the $400's.

In case you still are interested in the Z60t's, while they perform like T43's (Pentium M's w/533MHz bus), they have two important next generation features just like the Z61t, T60, etc.; 1) serial ATA hard drives, 2) the newer 20V ac adapter.

Underclocker,

Many thanks for the info. The Z60t is out of the question then - this person wants dual core for future proofing.
