SOLD: T40p 2373G1U with issues $125 obo shipped (pics)

Hello All,

My friend wants me to find him a Z61t here on the forums but in the meantime we want to sell his ailing T40p unit. The laptop has served him well the last few years but it's got too many issues for him to deal with.

The unit he is selling is a T40p model 2373-G1U with the following specs:

Model: 2373-G1U
Processor: Intel Pentium M @ 1.6GHz
OS: Windows XP Professional
Screen: 14" SXGA+ LCD 1400x1050 hi res
Optical: CD-RW/DVDROM
Memory: 1GB DDR
Hard Drive: 40GB
Graphics: ATI Mobility FireGL 9000 dedicated graphics w/ 64MB onboard RAM
WIFI: IBM A/B Dual Band WIFI
Battery: 9 Cell High Capacity (has 326 cycles on it, with 46.24 Wh remaining on charge capacity)
AC Adapter: YES, one
Warranty: Expired

For the most part the laptop pretty much works except for the nagging issues below. This unit does not have any mobo/processor/video related/heat issues at all. He is getting rid of it to move to a dual core Z61.

- The laptop's lid is in good condition but has 4-5 visible deep scratches on it. The rest of the lid is covered in normal scuffing from travel.
- The lid's corners are dull.
- The laptop's CD-RW drive has problems reading discs and is becoming worse. A new CDRW drive may be the only solution.
- The top USB 2.0 port has sustained damage and lost its plastic insert which seperates the USB contacts. Therefore, this top USB port is to be considered dead. This port sometimes causes the laptop to short circuit and restart.
- The battery latch closest to the dock port on the underside of the laptop is missing resulting in a loose but usable battery slot.
- The LCD screen is in good condition with no major scratches but many scuffs visible from the keyboard and Touchpoint stick. A few scuffs are slightly visible when using the laptop but not by much.
- Keyboard keys are all intact but they are shiny from use, and the tilde and tab keys on the left upper side of the keyboard got some chemical with visible residue spilled on them. They function just fine but do show a marking.
- The left side of the palmrest shows some of the same chemical marking ever slightly in the light.
- The left mouse button for the touch pad is completely shot. This means it still works but is flattened as the spring has gone out. The touchpad/palmrest almost definitely needs to be replaced to fix this.

As I stated in the title, $135 shipped is really all we are asking. We know the laptop has issues that need fixing and from other T40p units that have sold on here with similar problems we think its a fair price. We will ship the laptop either USPS Priority or FEDEX ground insured, our choice. I have dealt on this forum many times and have many pos feedback reviews in the thread dedicated to such.
