FS: 15" UXGA LCDs - with minor defects but usable

#1 Post by BobA » Thu Sep 18, 2008 12:31 am

I have some UXGA Flexview LCDs for sale. All of them have a minor defect of some sort. I've also done a rough calibration of the brightness and included that with each LCD. '0' is equivalent to a relatively new LCD .. '-2' is equivalent to my 4 year old UXGA LCD. '-2' is still pretty decent but you can tell the difference in brightness.

LCD-01: spots in the center area of the LCD (brightness: -2)
LCD-02: spots in the center area of the LCD (brightness: -2)
SOLD: 1/4" long annoying mark in the LCD (upper right) (brightness: 0)
LCD-04: pressure mark in LCD (upper left) (brightness: -1)
LCD-05: two pressure marks, additional small mark (lower center) (brightness: 0)
LCD-06: two pressure marks (center area) (brightness: -2)
LCD-07: small nick on LCD surface (lower left); small spot in LCD (lower right) (brightness: -2)
LCD-08: two pressure marks (center area) (brightness: -2)
LCD-09: spots in the center area of the LCD (brightness: -1)
SOLD_St: pressure mark; mark in the LCD (lower right) (brightness: -3)
LCD-11: spots in the center area of the LCD (brightness: -1)
SOLD_St: several small marks toward the bottom of the LCD, whitish area at the top (brightness: -2)
SOLD -- LCD-13: two very small marks: (brightness: 0)

LCD comes built into lid (so it has the cable, inverter, antenna, hinges, and screws) ... These originally came out of 15" T42p systems but will fit in other 15" systems that use the flexview LCD.

$80 each shipped

Pictures are available - Please PM me with your email address. If there isn't any interest in these for a week, they will go to eBay.

Probably not. BIOS in T60 machines is quite restrictive when it comes to LCDs.

There is a somewhat detailed discussion about this issue in the thread 15" Flexview UXGA screen for sale - see the post there of Wed Apr 02, 2008 11:21 am. The answer (provided by Troels) is: Yes, this is possible... but it require quite some effort to modify a T42p UXGA for use in a T60/p - as discussed in that thread.
