FS: Advanced Dock 2503-10U

#1 Post by basketb » Mon Oct 06, 2008 4:34 pm

For sale is a used Advanced Dock 2503-10U (follow the link for specs and compatibility). There are a few minor scratches on top and bottom. But it is in excellent working condition. It comes with power cord and two (2) keys (no travel bezel for the ultrabay enhanced port - I'll keep that one for myself). Price is $195 (incl. shipping).

All prices include shipping to lower 48 states. Paypal payment only. Shipping to US confirmed address only. Please PM if interested.

You should include a link to a picture of the mod you did to the card.

RE:Advanced Dock

#8 Post by truk » Wed Oct 22, 2008 12:10 am

Just thought I'd mention that I did buy the last advanced dock BasketB had on here, and it arrived in good shape, both functionally and visually. He is an honest seller, and it's a lot cheaper than getting one through Lenovo.

Will the card fit the half-size PCI port of the Dock II for a T42 system?

Thanks.

No, it won't. Dock II takes a PCI card. My card is a PCIe card.

Rats. You wouldn't happen to have any low-profile PCI cards with similar GPU, would you?

Why can't things be simpler?

This dock and card will not be available for the next 4 weeks or so. I'll bump this thread once they are on the market again.

basketb wrote:Also for sale is an Geforce 7600GT 256 MB PCI-E Graphics Card graphics card with 2x DVI-I and 7 pin s-video ports (altogether 3 ports). It comes with a CD containing the driver for XP (and other OSes). I had to slightly clip two corners of this card so that it fits into the docking station. Price $35 (incl. shipping). (Edit: As requested, here a couple of pictures showing the modification to the card. This one shows the clipped corners. This one shows what it looks like installed in the dock.)

(I've tested/used the card with a T61p, the above docking station and Win XP SP2 in a 4 monitor setup: T61p WUXGA LCD, external WUXGA LCD, 2x UXGA CRTs). Works fine except for one issue documented here.

Price for Advanced Dock and PCIe card (installed in the dock) together is $205 (incl. shipping). In this case, I'll also throw in a 7 Pin S-Video To 3 RCA AV HDTV TV Adapter Cable for free, if desired.

Please see the link in the first post for a list of compatible Thinkpads.

Wrt. support of DVI @ 1920x1200, all I can say is that this works with my T60p and T61p without problems.
