I have a ThinkPad 760XD in fair shape. Powers up and boots to Windows 95. There's a minor crack in one corner of the lid; scuffs on top from use. Battery holds a charge and the 20x CD drive has no issues. No AC adapter*. The 12" XGA LCD shows a bright, vibrant image and there are no scratches or dead pixels. The 6gb hard drive is yet to show any issues. I'm asking $50 or best offer for this machine. Specs are listed below...

ThinkPad 760XD (9546-U9E)
166mhz Intel Pentium MMX CPU
48mb EDO SDRAM
6gb Travelstar Hd
LiIon battery
12" XGA TFT
20x CD-ROM
Windows 95

Anyone interested can feel free to PM me. I accept personal check, USPS money order and PayPal. Price includes shipping within the continental United States. Though the cost of shipping will add to the price, I will ship this computer worldwide.

*I do have an ac adapter I can include. However, it's patched with electrical tape in one section of the wire. If you desire to have it included, while I have full faith and confidence of the item's functionality, I can assume no liability.

Pictures will be available as soon as I find my camera (which I'm sure has legs because it always seems to run away).

I don't think I could part with a 760XD. (This explains why I have several) ;)

It is a nice system. It's well-built, compact and the screen is absolutely gorgeous. The systems are also surprisingly versatile. The video features are rather useful. My only compaints on the XD (which also pertain to the CD and ED) is the mWave audio system; the drivers are clunky and unless you're either running Windows 95 and/or have the RAM maxed out, they'll slow your system to the speed of smell. If this computer doesn't sell, I plan to hunt down an ESS sound card pulled from a 760EL or XL and a larger hard drive so I can use this computer in the places I prefer not to bring the T42.

I'm not sure I have an EL or XL to harvest from, but I'd want to do the same. The XD has so much else going for it not to make it as perfect as possible. Btw, did you ever have a go at Windows ME or 2000 on it?

No but I've used ME on a 760E before. It ran alright; similar performance to 98SE. It has the crippled DOS support but there are some decent features. Choosing between Me and 98SE on one of those systems, IMO, is really a crapshoot.

I've never tried 2000 on a 760 but if I were to run it, I'd recommend a model with a 133 or 166mhz CPU (I'd avoid the 120 and 150mhz models) and I'd probably want a system with the ESS sound card. I'm doubtful about if you'd be able to make the video features work.
